Tumblr Beats Instagram as the Top-growing Social Platform & Snapchat Reigns as the Fastest Growing App

Though Facebook (FB) reigns supreme as the world’s largest social site, but it has taken a backseat as far as picking up new users are concerned. To be candid, when it comes to new user base, FB has reached its saturation level.

Now, Tumblr has surpassed Instagram as the fastest growing social platform. Tumbler’s active user base has touched a whopping 120% in the past 6 months whereas Instagram has only struggled to grow by 64%. And, when it comes to FB, it has grown only by 2%.


Of all the social apps today, Snapchat reigns supreme as the top growing social app as most of its users represent teens and youths in their 20’s. Over the last year, Snapchat has grown by a promising 56%.


Though Instagram has continued to top the list early in 2014; now the numbers pertaining to active users and overall members has plummeted to number 3 in the list.

The other social networking platforms that witnessed more growth than Facebook are Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and even Google+.
